The original ASP was made by Paris Theodore in New York and featured an all aluminum Guttersnipe. It was then licenced to Armament Systems and Procedures. As time went on, unfortunately, so did the quality. A Limited Edition 'Quest for Excellence' model was produced by Smith and Wesson and came in a beautifully presented case with accessories. This, like all original ASPs commands large prices on the collectors market. Happily though, there are several people out there who still carry and shoot the original ASP on a daily basis. A great testament to the advanced thinking behind the little pistol.
